“There is no world without Verona walls,
but purgatory, torture, hell itself.
hence-banished is banish'd from the world,
and world's exile is death.”
(William Shakespeare)

Verona CentralPark is positioned in a unique site for its location, charm and history. In the 4th century the Romans used this area for military purposes, calling it “Campo Marzo”. In the 13th century Alberto and Cangrande della Scala endowed it with ramparts and high walls to defend and protect the city. Structures and fortifications were enlarged and reinforced during Venetian and Napoleonic era and by Field-Marshal Radetzky during Habsburg domination. During recent years the area was used for a long time for logistic and administrative military functions.
